A few a his favorite things

Austin has many hobbies and things he enjoys.
One of his most favorite things to do is to attend concerts!
I am not much of a concert attendee, so his daddy gets that privilege most of the time! I really don't think he minds going! I think he really kind of likes it!
Last Thursday they attended another!
Gary Don bought Austin a VIP ticket to the Thousand Foot Krutch concert. Austin got to meet the band and have a photo!
Ivoryline (a group from Tyler, Tx)
and Disciple opened, and then it was on to the main event!

Here are a few of his souvenirs from his many concerts. The total cost of these souvenirs is some where around $150!! That does not include the cost of the ticket for the event! Concert attending is not a cheap hobby!

What some of you may not know is that ALL of these groups are christian groups!! I am very thankful for these groups! I am thankful that they are using the gifts God has given them to reach people thru music!

More of the same

I have not updated in a very long time! Really we do not have anything new going on! We are still playing and practicing football, and running cross country! I do see the light at the end of the tunnel on these two activities!

Collin's team has 1 regular season game left and then we are in the playoffs. Collin's team has been playing great, but we have been beat 3 times. : (

Austin has 2 weeks of football left and the conference cross country meet on October 30th! Austin's football team is undefeated, they did tie last night, no overtime in 8th grade football. He continues to run great! Monday he placed 4th!! With our team taking 4 of the top 5 spots!

I do have some pictures of what Paige has been up to, but have to wait to update until I get my camera back from my sister!

Let the Games Begin!

We are two weeks into football season!!! I am really ready for some football weather! Both games Collin has played the temps have been in the upper 90's with humidity like crazy!
Collin's first game was against Union Christian, although the team played a good game we lost.
Saturday we played Van Buren black. The boys played a great game. We won in double overtime!!

Collin is playing quarterback and linebacker again this year. I think he likes defense the best. He really likes hitting people!

Collin had 2 really long runs for touchdowns, unfortunately both were called back due to penalties. They counted in my book!

Thanks Lawerence's for enduring the heat to watch Collin play!
Austin has had three games. His team is 3-0! He is playing receiver and fast lineman on the punt team. Hopefully dad will get some pictures at his next game!

Run Austin Run!

After training all summer Austin finally had his first cross country meet on Saturday.

The weather was perfect for a race! The junior high run a 2 mile course.
There were over 150 jr high boys.

Austin ran an awesome race!!

I think he kind of shocked his coach!

He placed 9th!!!!!
(I don't have his official time yet)
He came in 1st for greenwood!
Needless to say when he was done....He was DONE!

Awesome job Austin!! Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds!

Kick Off

Football season is finally here! Last week we had the pittbull kick off! They announce all of the players and cheerleaders. The boys really enjoy hearing their name called out!

Collin is playing quarterback again this year and weak side linebacker. He loves football!

Here are his coaches for this year. Coach Eric, Coach Jason, Coach Chad, and Coach Jay. ( Not pictured team dad James! Thanks for keeping us organized!) These men do an amazing job with the boys! Thanks guys for all of the time you are investing in Collin's life!

Here is one of Collin's friends Braxton. This is what he did across the field when they called his name!
Austin had his first game last night! They won 31 12!
I don't have any pictures because it was raining, so we didn't take the camera. Austin is playing wide receiver, and fast lineman on the punt team.

Cocoa takes a trip

One of the reasons Collin wanted a rabbit is so he could "show" him at the fair. Yesterday we loaded Cocoa up and checked him in at the fair! Here he is in his new home for the week. He looks a little uncertain to me!

The Judging was last night. Collin also had football practice, so he left practice for a little while to show Cocoa.
Here are Collin and Cocoa in the judging arena.

According to the judge Cocoa is to skinny ( how I wish someone would tell me that!). Cocoa placed 4th! Collin was very excited! I guess we will fatten Cocoa up before next year!

1st, 4th, 8th

Pack up and ready!

Austin on the 1st day of 8th grade. This year is his 1st year of jr. high. He is playing football again. Athletics is first period. He has to be on the field ready to practice at 7:30. He is also running cross country. They run every afternoon! The rest of his schedule is:

2.English

3.math

4. science

lunch

5. study hall

6. career orientation/ P.E.

7. history

Collin on the 1st day of 4th grade. His face says it all....he is less than thrilled that school has started! His teachers are Mrs. Crumb for literacy and social studies/ Mrs. McDaniel for math and science. He is excited about Mrs. McDaniel's class because they get to use laptops! I love all of the technology being used in the classroom to keep learning fun!
Collin's school had some excitement the 1st day.....A transformer blew up and caught on fire near the school. They had to evacuate the building and make sure the fire did not spread to the building. All of this happened around the end of the day causing a major delay in dismissal! Nothing like trying to dismiss in the dark, no a/c, and 100 degree heat!

Paige on the 1st of 1st grade!!! She is so excited about school! She was mad because the boys got to go the 1st day and she had to wait until Friday!

Paige and Mrs. Efurd. I didn't even try to take Collin's picture with his teacher....

Paige had a great 1st day!
